"I'm obsessed with: the idea of the life of certain types of artists. In my own life, my practice is linked to many external situations, from production houses to distribution. So spending time with artists who create in a much more solitary way always relaxes me. I'm not jealous but I am attracted to that way of being, and it's something I associate strongly with Los Angeles. I'm often working against the clock and I need the input of a lot of people to get things done, whereas artists can work according to their own rhythm and timeline. There are artists who refuse to join galleries and the market system who are still important and incredible. As a fashion designer, you have no choice- if you don't step into the system, you can forget about it. In both worlds you can be an individual and extreme, but I think that artists have a greater chance to do things in their own way".
