I've stopped purchasing fashion magazines because I no longer feel inspired by the works of such publications. Because a fashion publication is but a vision of it's editor and nothing more. I value publications like a magazine who value integrity and vision over any other factors but as of late I've come to question even the 'integrity' of such. I've nearly worshipped the magazine for featuring Yohji Yamamoto and Margiela as curators of it's issues but their latest issue which features Chloe Sevigny on it's cover and is curated by Proenza Schouler strikes as odd. I mean no offense to Proenza Schouler of course only that by featuring designers with such strong concepts (Margiela, Yamamoto, Jun Takahasi) among others a magazine has established itself as an art publication whose concepts are visually paved as oppose to an artificial trend driven glossy. The American Issue must be a sign of everything that is wrong with America. It Girl and It Designers of the moment, that'll sure catch the eye of a trendy American... Enough ramblings. |amagazinecuratedby.com
